Clappform has contributed to the Digital Twin Infrastructure of the Municipality of Alkmaar. One of the core components we developed is the Area Compass (Gebiedskompas): a digital environment where open data sources come together to support policy officers in making better and faster decisions.
With 71 indicators, grouped into themes and subthemes, the Area Compass provides insights at the neighbourhood level. This is then compared with the weighted average of the municipality of Alkmaar, making discrepancies, trends, and opportunities visible.
Important: the solution runs based on the Open Geospatial Consortium standards and aligns with the Geonovum guidelines, ensuring interoperability, openness, and reusability.
A great step towards data-driven working within the physical living environment, offering more oversight, greater depth, and more cohesion in a single environment.
