All these sources are consolidated into a single data lakehouse, a central repository where all data is stored and prepared for utilisation.

The operations office, tactical planning, scheduling, the recycling centre, and the HW (Hazardous Waste) department all work with the same underlying data, each from their own perspective—whether strategic, tactical, or operational.

The challenge
As long as these systems remain disconnected, a comprehensive overview is lacking. Tactical and operational steering requires data from multiple sources simultaneously. This data must be accurate, up to date, and consistently interpreted by everyone. In practice, this means toggling between disparate systems to piece together a complete picture, while each department views the same process from its own perspective.
